Unicorn Capital Partners took part in Back to Business: Russia Forum in London

London, September 23, 2015 – Sergei Moiseyev, the co-founder and Managing Partner of Unicorn Capital Partners, an industrial buyout fund focused on Russia and CIS, took part in panel discussion Risks and Rewards: Capitalizing on New Opportunities. The panel discussion was part of the first Back to Business: Russia forum in London hosted by Bloomberg and Mikhailov and Partners and aimed to open a dialogue between the senior management of major Russian firms and European investment funds.

During the open discussion Mr. Moiseyev touched upon risks, opportunities and projects in Russian industrial sector. He said:

"Within the framework of the last 12 months we have carried out in-depth due diligence on a large number of investment opportunities. Some companies are faced with the aftermath of imposed sanctions, others are in the midst of large modernization programs. Most experience difficulties with extending financing from local and international banks. As a result, Russian and CIS small and midmarket represents an extraordinary investment opportunity at the moment. Valuation dropped down significantly, while competition for deals is all but existent. Current crisis is not the time to kick back and relax. It is the time of decision making and opportunity taking. At times of adversity, one must choose the optimal path to lay foundation for future business. As Winston Churchill once said, «any crisis means new opportunities».

As Russia re-opens opportunities for investors, the Back to Business: Russia forum paves the way for a new cycle in relations between Russian and international companies.
